Swany Sponsors the National Canadian team at the World University games in Torino next year
6 athletes and 2 coaches have been named to Team Canada for the 2025 FISU World Winter University Games being held on January 13th - 23rd. These 32nd winter games will take place in Torino, Italy which is the capital city of Piedmont in Northern Italy. Torino is the birthplace of the FISU games as they were founded in the Italian city in 1949. The Winter University Games take place every 2 years in various cities around the world. It is one of the largest winter multi-sport events worldwide, second only to the Olympic Games. The FISU games will host approximately 3000 athletes and coaches and will feature 11 sports in 6 municipalities.
Alex Mysko, Thomas Burnyeat, George Bobyn and Quinn Dawson represent Canada in the Moguls and Duel Moguls events while Marcus MacDonald and Marcus Haire represent in the Slopestyle and BigAir events of Freestyle Skiing, a sport that Canada traditionally dominates. This prestigious event is one very important segment in the long journey toward personal excellence for each of these athletes, a pathway that they all know very well, a journey that they all feel honoured to be on.
